Local Treatment Services

In the Western District of Tennessee, treatment is made available to offenders and administered under the authority of the sentencing judge, as set forth in the Judgment and Commitment Order. As each offender has unique needs and characteristics, appropriate assessments and screening is done both within the probation office and by the treatment provider (contract or non-contract). Once the offender has been fully evaluated, recommendations are made with an expectation that the offender will adhere to those recommendations under the close monitoring of their supervising probation officer. Within the district, there are various providers to address the needs of offenders including mental health treatment, drug treatment, or sex offender cognitive therapy. Providers’ services include treatment readiness programs, outpatient/residential treatment, and individual services.
